Another hello. Living in Glasgow just now but there's way more information here than anywhere else. Changing some things up on a Langster just now (first road/single/fixed bike) - getting powdercoated this week and needing a few parts and it'll be looking and riding a lot nicer.

New to the site. This is not a sales pitch. I work for Fyxation - http://www.fyxation.com
Our tires will be in the UK soon at a few different shops. My goal her is to answer any questions people have on this site about the Fyxation Session 700 tires.
Cheers.

We have been talking with Brick Lane Bikes, Tokyo Fixed Gear and a few others. The tires should be out there in July.

'Nother newb alert.
Always ridden bikes until a couple of years ago, last in a long line of bike thefts & haven't replaced. Been riding my bro's old bomb-proof GT around recently - to work & back etc.. doing a couple of weekend rides and such and getting the bug back good and proper.
Had almost completely decided on an '09 Genesis Flyer - very fast & light, wasn't sure about the lime-green at first but didn't feel as much of a cock riding it around as I expected - but after a week or so lurking on here, think I'd rather build my own. My knowledge & skills are limited but I'm sure I'll get by with a bit of help from my friends!
So I'm keeping an eye out for a 56-58cm frame for my first build. Oh, and all the rest. Finding the sheer number of bits and pieces I need to find quite daunting to be honest.

Recently started riding to work on a massive great 1970s Raleigh with Sturmey Archer gears etc etc. It's fun but so slow and heavy and my commute's from Hackney to Hammersmith so quite long. I want to get a fixed gear for lightness and ease of maintenance. Can anybody recommend one under £300 that will fit my lanky frame. I'm 6' 4".
Cheers

Keep an eye on the ebay thread in the classifieds and shopping forum and let the others do the hard work for you. For £300 you will probably do better buying a decent bit of second hand kit than a new low quality bike, particularly for your commute.

I ride singlespeed, and slowly. Go away. And never come back.

Hi all,
Not fixed or singlespeed yet, looking to get some wheels ASAP but my budget is tight. Will be posting a 'wanted' as soon as I'm free of nursery regulations.
Any recommendations/advice would be great. -

Hi there, also a newbie to the world of FGSS, long time London cyclist. Am looking to build up an old bike with a limited budget and have found the classifieds section great, been watching them for a while now to get an idea of what I should be paying for a frame. Also I am trying to figure out what size frame I should be looking for - I am 5 foot 4 (on a good day). Any advice?
Thanks - weta

..
hello,
First post after lurking a fair amount over the last few months whilst building my first fixed gear. Found lots of helpful info on here, as well as reading pretty much all of Sheldon's site. I've converted my Dad's old raleigh frame to a 44x17 set up and so far it all seems to be working ok!
Been riding fixed for the last couple of weeks now, just using it for commuting - Finsbury Park to Blackfriars Road via Upper street and Farringdon Road.
