I don't know that much about it; is there a separate ss category or do they just stay in the pub till everyone's drivetrains seize up?
-
• #3
I'm up for it dude - a bit of training and a better supply of beers should put me on the podium!
-
• #4
I'll need to check dates as I have a wedding around then but could well be up for this.
-
• #5
I'm doing it! So is Ted. And Posy might be too
-
• #6

Awesome. I've been doing a fair bit more riding so am a bit less lame when the going gets a bit tough and I have a new bouncy fork to make it proper (as you suggested). Think I might buy some mud tyres though...

Plus I have some lights and will ensure that I bring proper supplies i.e. bacon and beer
-
• #10
awesome, i did the bonty 24/12 in plymouth last year as well, and won our category! sixth overall.
what forks did you get?
-
• #11
Nice one mate! I'll have to do a lot of training to keep up... I did a big adventure race through snowdonia in Spetember that took ina few of the trail centres so have had some practice on some tougher trails!
Got a set of 100mm Minute 29er forks which are wicked

I'd be really interested in this one, sounds great.

Would quite like to give this a go but I am quite unfit and probably bad at mountain biking. Is it a bad idea?!
-
• #14

any one up for rides on the north/south downs?
been braking free from the southdowns recently and riding up near sw dorking,
however the southdowns are getting pretty dry now and are nice and rideable! woohoo! -
• #17
It's next weekend! Who's in?
-
• #18
im in, but we have entered already. it books up pretty fast so if you arent set up?.
fairly good circuits they set up, some good trails that you get to ride over the 24 hours to see the place at different time which is cool.
anyhow some of our prospective riders are fannying about so watch this space may shout out if we need team mates.
whatever if youre going--take mud tyres ffs -
• #19
I'm in the Solo category. How sensible an idea that is I do not know.
-
• #20
cool idea, as long as you are good for eating, sleeping, shitting, drinking on the bike?
dont tell us youre ss it too? -
• #21
I'm not that foolish - I'd only riding a double chainset though. No granny gear
-
• #22
cool, should be great, they chuck a climb in or two but its not too knarly, 2:2 should do ya if youre strong and have been spinning similar gears.
the weather is the decider--last year it rained hard, and the maddest fun was just keeping the bike forwards on the worst mud baths, off camber sections were soooooooo fun- brings bike handling skills right out-
now im getting stoked for it!, training tommorrow and night practice this week oh yeah.
-
• #23
sweet i got a solo buddy to talk to then!
-
• #24

we are vets (lol) but ride hard -
