Rusholme is sprint training land, just ride it like it's last orders! Upper brook is fine but less visually stimulating. Finglands are the worst that I have found, most of the Stagecoach drivers are fairly decent. An Ex GF of mine trained to be a driver with them a few years back and always joked that if she failed with them that she could always work for UK North, they were without doubt the worst bus company in the area.
One to watch at the moment is Levy, all the works near the now burnt out Tesco are eating lanes and forcing buses to stop in the middle of the road (Levenshulme drivers are to thick to realise what the cones and no parking signs are for!) so just be carefull if you cut up the inside, they just don't have any option at the moment.
