49/19. this is about 70GI and gives me 19 skid patches... which is good cos I love a big old skid-up.
Also a big fan of 48/17.

39/14, but thinking something between that and 39/15 (or 42/16) would be about right.

41x15 or 41x20. I can't make up my mind.

69x2
I tried 69x1 but prefer the more involved feeling when I share.

This week I am mostly enjoying 47-18. Was a good gearing for the ride to Cambridge too.
im changing to an from and 47/16 to a 47/18, just cos i tried it recently and it was just such a piece'a'piss getting anywhere, up any hill,no sweat.
starting and stopping just a dream !oh and skidding, but i dont really do that.

Converted my 48 : 17/16 BJ to climbing modus last night. Now 41 : 23.
The 41T chainring / 144 BCD campag pista crankset combo looks well strange, and the shiny undrilled 23T cog on the back looks like I nicked it from a table saw.
Taking it for a test ride tonight, on a 1.5km hill I found with a slightly higher gradient than the weekends mountain climb. Better bloody get on with this ratio, or its going to be a painful weekend. ;)

Just changed mine from 48:18 to 48:17 and at the moment I'm preferring it.
But 1 tooth does feel different - even on a fairly flat 20k ride.

im now down to 47x18 (68.8GI) from x16 (77GI)and the muscle burn is tremendous!
i highly recommend it,
my hamstrings especially burn like nothing before.
i cannot however for the love of god, get faster than about 25mph even down hill !
i think my cadence sucks, maybe cos i was so used to grinding it out ? -

surely the point is to work up fitness enough in your big gear, then being able to spin it well, maxing out on downhills. perhaps go for about a 72 and then gradually up it
