are we talking crank bolts with the op or chain ring bolts or bb, or whot? anyway, whot bolts are they, allen self extracters or the cheapo hex nut type? i'd say that given the bb axle is pretty solid steel it takes a real good yank of the crank bolts. so change your breakfest cereals in favour of a full british and tighten them bolts proper (get some 15 or 20cm long allen key) AFTER you checked for a centered chainring on your spider. if it wobbles too much is loosens the crank bolts and/or chainring bolts then clean the threads with some muckoff or spirit, put some grease on the threads and the bb axle and givit som'!
if it doesn't work ... get a new bike :P
I have two sets of sugino messengers on different bikes, (one is the condor brand but essentially the same thing) and the crank bolts seem to be constantly working themselves loose. I have to tighten every other day.
One set has even been lock-tighted by a previous owner and I found them to be a bit loose while doing a routine check the other day. hmmm.
I reckon Ive been tightening them properly but havent fully cranked the hell out of them for fear of stripping the threads or causing some other damage.
has anyone had a similair problem? Or to I just need to HTFU and just mega tighten them? Any advice would be thoroughly appreciated
I have searched so appologies if this has been discussed before...
