i hate riding brakeless .. purely because you go so fucking slow.
Maybe you do, doesn't mean everyone does.
I have done before because i thought it looked cool, but you will never ride about fast as you would with a brake(s) on purely becasue you need to slow down 10m before a junction, well i did. I like the idea/simplicity of it but i couldn't get to grips with it. Just seems even harder with drops for some reason!
Monster-bars™ ftw, although to be fair I could skid/stop just as easy on my old (normal width) risers, but silly wide bars make everything easier....apart from cutting through traffic, although i'm used to it now!
I reckon if you're gonna be doing "stem-crotch hipster™" skids up to junctions then it will take you ages to stop, but you if you do little whip out/sharp skids you can stop within a couple of metres from 20+mph quite quickly, as happy gilmores teacher once said "its all in the hips" ;)
But if you're not comfortable/enjoying riding your bike as it's set up, then you should change it until you are.
