So not a hell of a lot of rim failures then, and no personal experience of it happening.
Lets put the internet witch-hunt to bed then. Using your argument there would be very few companies to cause the established market to innovate or experiment - velocity only brought out the b43 in response to the h+Son's popularity....
Having said that though - i'm pro velocity - if only for the fact that they are the current market leaders in ridiculous deep aluminium rim technology - if we keep stoking this fire and switching allegience between the market leaders we could create the aluminium disk wheel - 700c flywheels ftw!
