tlk prprly and tell us which bike shop it was. Sounds more like a job for trading standards than citizens advice. I'd definitely take the bike to the shop where you bought it and tell them what you've learned on here today i.e they where either drunk or on drugs when the sold you that bike in that condition, explain the sproket has been slipping and the lock ring will not tighten itself. If they still dont fix it write down information like where you bought the bike (adress, telephone) the problem (whats happened to your bike and your injurys) and what the bike shop have done to fix the problem for you then call 0845 404 0506 and launch an inquiry, they might even give you some legal advice. After all that if its still not resolved go to citizens advice and ask about legal aid.
or just chuck the bike in a skip and move on... your call
