What the Police instructed me to do was ask for confirmation that the incident was 'captured' on CCTV, and whether or not the perpetrator's face could be seen. I didn't need to see any of the footage, only ask the security firm to confirm whether or not it was worth the police following it up.

I can see, from the point of view of the Police, why that would be immensely useful, however it did place me in a bit of a catch 22 - the security firm wanted police involvement before accessing the CCTV, and the police would only get involved if the incident was confirmed 'captured' on CCTV!

My main frustration lies with the security firm on this one, two chubby chaps, sat on their arses, giving the big "We're sorry, we'd like to help, we just, er, can't.....". They did offer to "look over the CCTV" but when I suggested it might be useful that they took some of my details, just in case something did come up, they claimed that "that wouldn't really be necessary".

    Hmmmm.... Vigilante Rampage anyone?!?
