p.s. The security firm who ran the CCTV camera looking right at where the bike was stolen from were utter wankers (apart from one guys who was actually ok) and said that it wasn't their problem.
The PS firm are not allowed to just give you videos willy-nilly, if the video is of a public space (which I imagine it is) and members of the public are on the video then it is subject to Data Protection laws. Only the Police can request a copy of the footage and they need demonstrable reason for doing so. Maybe they were unable or unwilling to explain this to you in a reasonable fashion or are genuinely just wankers but they are right unfortunately, it's not their problem.
