Hi all,
A very good friend of mine has recently found out that she has Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer and she is only 21. I have decided that I am going to shave off my dreadlocks to try to raise as much money as possible to help her out.
I am hoping that the money I raise can be used to take her away from normal life and treat her for a day or even a couple of days if I get enough money. Any money that is left over will be gift aided to the charity of her choosing. Please sponsor me if you can afford it. Even a pound or two will make a huge difference.
I am making an event out of the official dreadlock cutting where there will be before, during and after photos. The aim here is that we can make it quite fun, have a bit of a laugh and raise a load of money. I am also hoping to get it filmed so that we can all have a laugh at it on Youtube afterwards! If you are around on Saturday 6th June then let me know and I’ll send you the details of where it’s happening (at a friend’s house in Islington). Everyone will get the chance to help by cutting off a dreadlock and possibly shaving stupid shapes into my hair before it finally all goes.
Thank you,
Phil.
p.s. If you would like to sponsor me then send me a private message with your name, address/email address and amount of money that you would like to sponsor me for. I will then collect the money on the night and afterwards. I will be at as many of the drinks as I can to do this and I will also be at TrixieDix pretty much every week.

Less dreadlocks in the world can only be a good thing. And if it's for a good cause, even better.

If you could do a Justgiving site, tax rebates would be earned for the charity.

need pictures BD
one of our support team in the fireflies 2007 ride had his head shaved like his dad.. shame it isn't on youtube.. we collected 2000 euros for that stunt.. hilarious if someone can track in down.. Fireflies ride 2007 Rest Day - Son of Bob haircut..

BTW my friend had Hodgkins Lymphoma at 24, then 15 years of chemo.. two years ago she had a bone marrow transplant, it was a success (phew), there is no half way, it either works (full remission after quarantine and no more chemo) or doesn't (no recover and death) ..
if anyone is feeling generous give bone marrow.. have the power to save a life it is a very special gift.. okay so you feel rough for a couple of days afterwards.. love the donation idea of hair too, very good..
peace y'all and post justgiving details please..

These are the dreadlocks in question
That picture was taken a couple of months back, so they're even longer now!
Here's another one just in case the last one wasn't enough!
So the dreads are being shaved off on Saturday at Marco's place, just off City Road. It's about halfway between old street roundabout and angel tube. Send me a PM if you want the address. We're going to be having a BBQ, beers, plenty of music and of course everyone gets to join in cutting my hair and shaving stupid things into it before it all goes completely down to the scalp! Starts around 7pm and will go on til pretty late I'd guess.

It really will! Baldyness here I come!
Tonight at 7 for any of you who want to come along and watch/join in.
why don't you go the whole hog and so the whole body shave ?
Really nice for you to do that for your friend, damned evil disease is Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Good luck to her and you in raising money and awareness.
