you know what? forget about trying to use 'proper' component to match the frame, I'd rather ride that exactly as it is, it must be really comfortable and work beautifully simply by using decent component.

I dont really know what I'm talking about TBH. I've just been checking chain length calculators, and recommended rear mech arm lengths, a lot recently (I relation to a geared build). So it was the first thing I noticed.
Fact is, if it were me buying that bike. I would even consider fitting a triple chainset (shock horror) and a rear rack. It looks prime for some serious touring miles.
