thats a particually dangerous bit of cycle route 25, i lived two roads down for 10 years and all kinds of fucked up shit happens on brixton hill. and with the fair weather at the moment i suppose this is going to be happening with greater frequencity. i guess more cyclists=more accidents. best wishes to the rider, heal up soon mate.

One always has to be on there toes bombin it down Brixton Hill, cunts just pulling in and out all over the place, no indicating etc....I've had a few near misses over the years!

Fucking hell. Its a warzone out there.
Heel up, I hope the guys okay.

Shit not again, hope the fella is ok

Could be one of the huge potholes along that road. Some of them are camouflaged so well you don't see them until your front wheel is about to go in.
It's a vicious road not helped by the buses screaming past and the busy side roads which drivers have to be very quick off the mark to dart into when there's a gap in the traffic.
I hope the bloke's alright.

definitely, its quick and many lanes and many different entry/exit routes...
its good people post this up, and it was good reading the what can be done to improve safety thread, as it makes you think and perhaps assess your own riding...
hope the rider is ok

poor bugger.
personally I avoid that route, there are alternatives.
people come from croydon and ride to work in town along there, it's a very busy and fast stretch going downhill

....too many lights and roads leading off it with knobends pulling out gaggin to get gone!
Nearly got knocked off myself this morning actually, forgot.
Bombing it down the bus lane and the car in the lane to my right stopped and flashed the car coming up the opposite side to let them go across into the side road to my left, no time to stop, I had to skid like fuck but then do a sharp left to avoid and jumped onto he curb....luckily the car that was pulling across the road saw me and stopped....

Check this though, there was ANOTHER crash on the way BACK tonight......on Brixton Hill!!!!!!!
Up near Sainsburys heading South, could see loads of flashing lights ahead and a backlog of traffic
Get up there and can see loads of debris on the road....ambulance, 2 OB cars, car stationary in the middle of the road, 2 motorbikes smashed to fuck(write offs), one still in the road, the other at side next to pavement.. I get parrallel and the stationary car had it's drivers side bumper/wing smashed to fuck....
Looked like the motorbikes ahd been raggin it down the middle between the traffic, overtaking and obviously clipped the front of the car and I assume his mate was right behind him? -

I went home along OKR today- still not used to Motorbikes skimming my elbow in the bus-lane.

Well dodge when you're bombing it down the bus lane avoiding potholes and overtaking nodders, next thing a Kawasaki comes up your arse*
*no, I'm not gay

Oh great, so instead of skidding like fuck and kerb-hopping, he instead slaps on the front brake at speed going downhill, locks up, vaults the handlebars and face-plants right in the path of an oncoming car!!
IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT HIM TO DO TIMMY!?!!??? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING..?????
Jesus, what a BASTARD..!!!!

It's coming into town of a morning I get shat up by that one. Nice pootle across the park (dead quiet), bomb it down the hill ("BANZAI..!!!"), round the middle of Greenwich (busy), along the road to OKR (nice and quiet), meet OKR (busy) watch for lorries and buses but not much else in terms of dangers - few turn offs, pick up a bus lane at New Cross (aaahhh, got that all to myself) and suddenly VVRRROOOOMMMMMM - there's a thousand cc bike fucks past me twenty-odd miles an hour plus faster. That's fuck all speed on a bike, just NOT what I'm expecting when I think I've got the bus lane to myself.
In fairness, haven't had any close shaves, or I'd have words at the next lights*. They're allowed to use the lane, they gave me a decent passing gap, no probs so far. Just shits the life out of me.
*When there is a story of a biker being rugby tackled flat by an irate cyclist, so the bike squises his leg and he gets beaten bloody with his own helmet whilst trapped beneath it... It wasn't me, ok. It just wasn't. I am a reformed character. All in my world is now peace. Anger is negative emotion and a distant memory. I am transcendent to a higher plane...

I fucking hate that, especially on Clapham where motorcycles have to overtake you with little room.

its a fair point that skidding the back wheel is better at speed. pistanator has however given us all a rare insight into his sexuality by feeling the need to declare that he is 'not' gay. i think we are all pretty forward thinking on this forum, and i have never held it against pistanator that he likes it up the arse from bikers. after all it is our differences that give us our strength.

Big smash on Brixton Hill and the corner of Baytree Rd this morning, got there at the aftermath about 9.45, motorbike totally smashed under a car, car had it's whole front offside bumber and wing smashed up, ambulance, OB etc - looked like the car pulled straight across the traffic, motorbike bombin it down the road - SMASH!
