Hi, sorry to post this in here, only just registered so I can't start a thread.
I was cycled past the court on Downham Road last night, and I sat and watched a load of people playing bike polo there.
I have the feeling that some of those people were from this forum. Were you playing last night?
It looks like a great sport, I would love to try it at some point. You lot looked pretty professional though, it looked quite brutal, would a beginner be welcome?
I've only just got into single speed bikes, and my one is only a month old, so I don't want to wreck it. What do I need in terms of equipment for bike polo, obviously a bike, and I guess the mallet. Where can I get either of those, and how much would I expect to have to pay?
Thanks.
Oh and finally how often do you play at Downham road, I only live just round the corner...

Next time just pop in and say hi, we're around on Tuesdays, Thursdays and both days at the weekend. Stop by tonight and introduce yourself, one of us will be happy to lend a bike and mallet.

;699707']So an emirate is an airplane? The Arsenal Airplanes? Yea, Emirates sounds better at least!
Surely a team in Arsenal should have a name relating to weaponry or something? Like the wiki suggests...Sorry I'm just catching up with this! hilarious. Guess I need to drag Mike out to the footie. With talk like this you'll never pass your citizenship test.

skate board polo anyone?

They do not need to be combined. Skateboarding is already badass enough. No need for mallets and balls.

Bit of both.
Back on topic...
We have been 'advised' to wear protective gear. This isn't a requirement but due to the amount of exposure to the general public I would like everyone to wear helmets at least. I've asked bern helmets to send us a few helmets in that we can use here but there's no guarantee that they'll be here in time so please, if you have one wear it.
Originally, we were going to try and get some audience participation to 'have a go' but health and safety says no. I would like any of you on the list that are new to polo to especially participate as long as you don't mind being pointed out as a 'newbie'.And anybody willing to show up there a bit early and help out with constructing the court will be much appreciated. Hopefully the weather will hold out and it'll be a nice day out with a different sort of aspect of polo. See ya Saturday.
