• Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out some cheapish but nice frames and some other useful parts many of which are unused.
I will be listing further frames this week - I will be at Herne Hill on Sunday morning for the Veteran-Cycle Club meeting and items can be collected from me then - also I may be able to deliver (depending on where you are in London) items on Saturday afternoon.
Otherwise, shipping on frames is now reduced to £11 - other items can ship free of charge with the frame - you might like to look at my wheel listing from Monday or bars listings from last week...

ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL; viewing/collection welcome. Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…

UNKNOWN MAKE ORNATE LUGGED ROAD FRAME 22.5in c1950 Fancy Lugs
    Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in
    Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in, Sprints or 700C (brake drop is 56mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 DB almost certainly
    Bottom Bracket Threads: English
This will make a very pretty road frame once it is renovated and would be ideal for conversion to single speed or fixed with the long horizontal rear dropouts. £65

HOLDSWORTH MONSOON FRAME 23in c1960 Lovely fancy lugs
    Seat Tube (ctt): 23in
    Top Tube (ctc): 23in
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 DB
This a lateish Holdsworth Monsoon with slightly more fancy lugs and is much rarer than the standard Monsoon. It did not have its original fork when I got this frame but I have found a very suitable fork which even has the ideal steerer length. The frame is very sound and just needs repainting. £85

DAVE RUSSELL ROAD FRAME 25in c1980
    Seat Tube (ctt): 25in
    Top Tube (ctc): 23in
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 DB
    Frame number: 1683
This is a very nicely detailed road frame built by Dave Russell (who died last year) at the end of the 70s/beginning of the 80s. It is in very sound condition; there are no dents or other damage. Clearances are pretty much standard 700C/sprint (taking a brake with a 45mm drop on 700C/sprint). The long horizontal dropouts make it ideal for conversion to fixed or single speed.
    £85 SOLD

You'd definitely need a new stem, maybe seatpost, probably not crankset and not wheels...

  • Please get in touch asap if you want the Dave Russell as several other people are interested...

  • I think you'll find owen jowett is interested in every frame on the forum. I am also interested in the DR, is it drilled for allen brakes or nutted, probably a couple of cms to big for me though.

  • sorry for not getting in touch, i took snoops big gitane instead.

  • Holdsworth is a 1958/59 monsoon because they changed the forks for 1960.
Not life changing information but nice to know.

  • But it says the forks aren't original...

  • But it says the forks aren't original...

He's done a good job then... they look identical to the original forks on my 58/59 monsoon.

  • Due to being messed around by two timewasters both the Holdsworth Monsoon and unknown fancy lugged frame are both still available.
