Well I like it and use it all the time for main body text; it's one of the most readable fonts there is. Give me something dull but legible in Helvetica than some brainless Mac-happy shite that is so up itself you can't read it. There's always been a snooty bit of typeface snobbery about Helvetica amongst designers. The reason, I think, is that it's so damn good but also utilitarian. Running into an old girlfriend and being surprised at how attractive and sophisticated she is... is about right.
