Thanks for the sympathetic replies all. I will have a look round Brick Lane, but I've a distinct feeling that's the last I'll be seeing of that one. The only thing that softens the blow is that I've a Bob Jackson coming from Cavendish any day now. But still, the Filmore was an excellent steed while it lasted.
One things for sure, I'll NEVER again think it'll be 'OK' to just use a crappy cable lock, no matter how secure things might seem.

There was a young man thought it able
to secure his bike in a car stable
Though locked in the shed,
a thief stole it and fled,
after easily snipping through cableYou only use those shitty locks once! - Hope you get your bike back

that really sucks ... love my fillmore!

My Fillmore was stolen from out side my office 2 weeks ago. I forgot my big Abus lock and thought it would be grand with the cable "just this once". Grand it was not. Bike thieves are such cunts. Go to bricklane market. I went & was amazed at the amount of stolen lights, saddles, wheels and dangerous looking fucks trying to fence them, that i doubt i will ever go back. I hope whoever stole your bike swells up, and dies.

that's fucking awful mate, at least on the bright side you're already getting a new bike already that's a lots better than the Lemond.

An update to this debacle is that the CCTV is in fact fake. Bumflaps. Apparently forensics are involved now(!) and they are collecting snipped crappy chain from me later.
Thanks for the limerick Mobidog, you can always depend on the power of rhyme to ease the pain of a stolen ride. And here is hoping my Bob will look half as slick as yours Ed. It's a good job I ordered it NINE WEEKS AGO. It won't come a day too soon now - squashed on a bus for the commute till then.

That sucks shit. Sorry dood.
Those "secure" garages just mean the potential thief who gets in knows they won't be disturbed without warning.
Any insurance..?
-
• #13
damn pikeys, in a bloody garage too. Will keep an eye out, hope you track it down
-

Insurance ran out but 2 weeks ago - would have had to have been a white lie about the lock used too...
Thanks for the support folks. If I get any miraculous luck I'll update

Sorry to hear about that mate... At least you got a sweet Jackson coming :)
What wheels are those?
I got a Fillmore a couple of weeks ago and I think the wheels are quite shit, but your ones look pretty sweet.

PHer, that Filmore is not actually mine. I had the fairly crappy stock wheels on too! Those ones do look nice on that pic, found it on the google image search and used it due to the bull horns.
Bah! Just had my Filmore stolen from my friends garage on Grays Inn Road, happened tonight sometime between 6:30pm and 10:45pm tonight (2nd June).
It had mostly stock parts on, but with aerowing bullhorn bars and a condor front brake. Will post a pic once I dig one out.
Stupidly used a rather flimsy bike lock to secure it within the garage, but not many people have access to it, what I suspect is that some unsavoury idiot saw us putting said Filmore in the garage and waited for another tenant to come along and open the door - it is the only way in to the place and has an automatic shutter, giving someone a 10 second window to sneak in. CCTV is monitoring the door and inside too, police say they will investigate.
Keep an eye out if you're in the area folks, I am GUTTED. Stupid for using such a crappy lock I know I know. Not usually so careless but had the stupid sense of security from the private garage area. But still.... BASTARDS!!
