Here's one for Battersea to Box hill via Richmond Park on the way out, looping back via Carshalton on the way back. (Mostly quiet roads once you get out of town)
Took a wrong turn at mile 16 so the bit over the A3 was a bridleway track (OK in the dry but you might get stuck on slicks in the wet - don’t this section on your fav rims!) [The planned route at this point was to head from Claygate to Chessington and then Ewell towards Epsom]
Also at mile 20.5 (Epsom) I was going to head down the A24 for a mile and pick up the back roads to my 23 mile marker, but had the bright idea of going up to see the race course which didn't add any distance but did add a nice climb that could have been avoided if you look at the elevation at this point. (I might use this part of the route to ride to the Derby next weekend)
The 53 miles took me (An unfit novice) a leisurely 5hrs with a 45 min stop at Boxhill to take in the view. Managed it all ridding fixed 42x16 btw (My longest fixed ride to date)
