Sargent and Co

I asked for the use of his lockring spanner there recently, and because he couldn't be bothered (he was sat cleaning some wheels), he said it would be a tenner. I asked if he was joking. He said no. Very polite about it he was, but so I understood that he wanted me to get lost.I won't be going there again. In contrast, BLB changed and fitted my new cog, free of charge, and wouldn't accept money. Funny the different experiences we all have at these shops.

i also live 30secs away from rob, genuinely nice man, always free and easy with the tools/cider if you catch him in the right mood.
Cannot recommend him enough, but yeah, opening times are sporadic(but most days at least for a few hours). I've often tried to pay rob and him not accept money, maybe you were being obnoxious?
Go there and buy stuff.
