Tool library / tool exchange. Post what you got and where you are

you've gotta remember that there are a lot of people (who aren't feeble minded) who have bought a bike ready built, either otp or second hand, who don't immediately need any bike specific tools and have no desire to build or work on bikes. And anyway, if you don't want to lend out your tools dont bother, but i think its a good thing that people are willing to help out.

I don't get it - either people don't want to work on bikes, in which case there are plenty of shops who are more than happy to take their money, or they do want to work on bikes, in which case owning a few basic tools seems to be easier than relying on the kindness of strangers.

I have some expensive tools which I wouldn't expect everybody to own, e.g. headset press, and some archaic ones which somebody might need only once to dismantle an old bike, e.g. the FAG BB tool referenced up thread, which I'm happy to let people use, but my sense of charity doesn't extend to crossing town to help somebody who is too idle, stupid or parsimonious to spring for a tool which will save its own cost in workshop fees the first time he uses it.
