Bricklane Bikes have a good selection in stock (not the cheapest you'll find I'm sure). Not sure about Blue but Black were £30 more than standard. Call them on 020 7033 9053

phil woods cost an absolute bomb at the moment. i worked out how much it's cost to get them from aspire velotech in the states, as per Dogsball Dale's suggestion, and it worked out even more expensive. i ended getting my silver ones from totalcycling.com (well, the front that is, the rear was from mosquito for a fantastic price but they've run out).

Might as well get Mack hubs over Phil nowadays, they're made in Poland, cost half (or less) of Phils and just as good.

Hmm - that's exactly what I'm thinking superprecise - the prices are just silly. BLB have blue in but for £337 for the pair - Condor's quote to build my pair of wheels up exactly as I wanted (with £10 extra for black spokes etc) was £410.
Have you actually ordered from Aspire dogsballs? Did you get stung for tax? Aspire work out as £267 which is a big difference.

Do they come in blue? ;)

New Goldtecs have ceramic bearings, £250 a set in almost any colour you want, through 14 :)

[bikeforum]I had heard bad things about BLB hence asking as I knew they had them[/bikeforum]
And then I saw the price.

I will look into Macks/the new Goldtecs, thanks Ed/James.

yep;
downside? you'll need to email Mack themselves and wait for a while for them to be build and send over.

Hmm, unless you buy them from the UK distributor who only do them in pairs of 32H high flange colours or 2 x 28 silver - fortunately blue 32H high is what I want.
Interesting Condor apparently sell them, will give them a call tomorrow. They look really nice and £120 for a pair FTW!

Just get em from Aspire Velotech, free shipping too

£120 a pair from Condor?? That can't be right....
-
• #20
Ah no sorry, £120 a pair for Mack's (not Phil's) direct from the UK distributor - postage on top too I'm sure:

I can highly recommend aspire, ive ordered loads of chris king stuff for my mtb's and never paid a penny in tax.Last year when it was two dollars to the pound,i saved myself a fortune and my orders have allways arrived within a week except once when it was delayed by uk customs.
So poppped down to Condor at lunchtime to get a quote for my new wheels - I'm thinking blue Phil 32H hubs laced to black Mavic CXP33s with black spokes and black pro loc nipples.
Condor are only doing Phil Woods hubs in black or silver at the moment, told me blue would need to be a special order then that turned into 'no they'd be £100 more'.
I don't want completely black wheels!
Does anyone know if anyone else in London has coloured Phil Woods in or are willing to order? Or how much the price difference should be?
