+1 For Ben's. Nice gear and good service. In Fact, just ordered a stem from them.
Aspire Velotech are also good for your carbon and Chris King needs

I use Milwaukee Bicycle Co. (also known as "Ben's Cycle") and also I use The Bike Biz if i can't find what i want at Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bicycle Co is located with a large bike community and also has close ties to Waterford Cycles a high end custom bike company which is a spin off of Schwinn. Milwaukee Bicycle Co have their own line of relatively high end semi-custom frames which are made by Waterford Cycles.
The Bike Biz basically only sells fixed gear parts, but be prepare to wait for shipping.

Bikyle.com
These two stores don't have amazing websites, but the availibility to get whatever you need. I've used them to get bits and pieces for my Seattle ride. -

hey thanks for that. she lives in virginia. Ben's shop seems to do the job. jeee - everything in the US is multiplied by at least 5 or something - even the tiny details - like toe clips or grip tape - there's so many more options. it sort of does my head in.

I really doubt it:
• All International packages will be declared the full value of the package. We will NOT declare a lower value.
• All International packages will be declared as "RETAIL SALE". We will NOT declare packages as "GIFT".

I live in Spain and I have bought 3 times from them, the first one passed, the second one got stuck and had to pay 20% (VAT + other taxes), and now have my fingers crossed on the third.
I have made purchases from diverse countries and have more or less a pattern of why a shipment will get stopped and taxed in my country's customs — even though they can do it with all of them: if the value is below $300 it's gonna pass. if it goes over that, I can get taxed. If it goes over $400, well, all my orders beyond that got taxed.

Maybe send an email to Prolly or the guys at Tracko and ask what they think.
Does anyone know what the best sites are for buying track gear in USA? I have a friend visiting at the moment and can get stuff sent to her to bring back...
thanks,.
