  • fair comment, Ive been going to c.mass for ages, the way i look at it is that many of these actions are coalescing towards action on climate change. If you personally dont believe that riding a bike has anything to do with that then all good.
Wheres the harm in more people on bikes? we all have our own reasons, noone owns it, no one can really predict it, its a carnival, thats the object of the mass as far as I can see.

no critical mass is essentially about reclamation of streets and making more people bike aware (whether is accomplishes that is probably a different topic)
it's not saying it's not a worthy cause, i'm saying that it's not for you or anyone else to make the choice to attach their political belief to an event that is just about riding your bike. and i think it probably puts off a lot of people either joining in themselves or at least being civil on the roads that people because it just gives the whole thing this big stupid liberal, hippy agenda. i don't want people thinking that i 'vote green' or 'free tibet' or want prisons scrapped etc etc just because i'm riding my bike.
saying everyone has their own reasons is stupid too because if your 'reasons' are anything other than 'i really like riding my bike' then you shouldn't be there.
sorry, i don't like being a dick but it totally winds me up
