The OP only rides the Dahon in the winter or when commuting in the city, now I am on the geared bike but my last long group ride on the fixed Dahon was 60 miles at 18+ mph in april. Last week in London I did about 80 miles in 5 days on it.
The point is that if you set it up right it works just as well as a flash trendy fixie. But the real point is I don't carry 20 lbs of locks and I travel with the thing where ever I go and best of all it gets major laughs - try that with your bike!
AMC - it does not matter what you get if its right for you there are no uncool fixed gear as far as I am concerned, sorry I can't be more helpful with the geometry but my instinct is go with a smaller frame.
