not so much a new bike but a reincarnation of my original conversion for commuting to save having to mess about taking bits off and on my track bike every weekend.
muddguards to be added when i find some.
total spend on this bike = £0
all from my various spares boxes, had forgotten how comfortable it is the the brooks.

New geared project. Swiss cilo frame. Will hopefully be built up with a full shimano 600 AX groupset(weird 80's aero kit) columbus cromor tubing and wicked 2 colour fade/jackson pollock paintjob. Just about to finish my girlfriends cilo which is purple and white with standard 600 groupset.
Matching obscure swiss bikes ftwgiant picture from ebay ad fail.
just have to wait for it to arrive now... oh the suspense.
Arabesque ftw :) its the old ultegra, man it looks good, my mate has a full gruppo on his dawes, looks great! -

For real, arabesque looks tight on a 70's build. Would love to have a full gruppo tucked away ready for when the right frame comes up. Deep orange metallic, gum walls and arab set. Damn that'd look good.
However, for a stylin' 80's speed machine you need 600AX, early attempt at aerodynamic parts, right down to the rubber headset condom. The water bottle and cage is pretty bum as well.http://velobase.com/ViewSingleGroup.aspx?GroupID=fa0cc1cf-9607-45db-a147-e9ac286da0ee
good a set of these bad boys winging their way over from poland as we speak.

got some conti tubs i might put on, put some more black into it....
-
• #10212
I agree on the conti tubs, i've stripped the black off a few chainrings, generally they come up well. Also dayno, didn't get back to you about that caliper, would just be after the £10 i paid. Give me a PM if you still want, i'm about all weekend.

sometimes i wonder if it's all down to the photos, and not the bike that make them most comment worthy. you have a lovely BJ there. you need to try and do it some justice i think.

Number 12 for the 12th frame that he has put his (custom made) track drop outs into. They supah light and tight!

a "custom made" rat bike...........is/sounds totally wrong.
a "rat bike" is that way because it has had the life riden out of it, you can't custom make one. -

Best speak to Ed about rat bikes....

Finished my hideous carbon Planet-X yesterday. Now flying out to Tenerife with it. Of course pictures of it are far more important than riding it, so I'll have some soon.

At least she'll be content that you ordered it in Red. That should shave a few seconds of your times.
