Hi,
Been lurking around here for a while, thought i'd introduce myself.
First fixed, the humble fuji - gets me to work/pub and back
Something a little more sophisticated for the weekends, seen a lot of geared steeds pictured recently, hopefully means some nice long summer rides!
And finally me
Usually to be found loitering around Clapham. Will hopefully be coming to south beers next week, and on some rides too. see you all out there,

take up rollerblading. solves both problems.
but you can't get fixed on them :/
I see one solution from that picture Ben took of that bike from 14 - where it shows the front brake you can see rubber ring - its acting as a buffer isn't it?

No its just so you can adjust the tension on the cable

Hello, here I am me and my new bicycle. Anyone up for a ride.
I think that bike's been spotted somewhere over Area 51.

Nice bike.
Looks to be a touch big for you though judging by the height of saddle/bars. I have a 64cm c-c track frame that is slightly too small for me that i might be parting with. Let me know if you might be interested in a trade./speculation
haha, nah its good!
im 2.01m so its nearly perfect now!Brooks saddle aside (i'm not a fan.... go ahead lynch me you hipsters!) That is a lovely bike, and a really nice photo to boot, did you take it at sunset?
believe it or not: just traded it for a rolls.
all pics are taken by me.
and yeah, sunset it was. -

ye but, no but, ye but, no but.. it is to adjust the tension but the rubber is surely not purely just to improve the grip with your fingers, it most probably protect the frame if your front wheels unexpectedly turn all the way to the right na? :)

ok imp I'll have another go at advice:
wrap yourself and your bike in bubble wrap?
weld the handlebars straight ahead - it's all the rage in the US, they call it fixed steer.

haha, nah its good!
im 2.01m so its nearly perfect now!even though you look more like 3,00m

asm, there's no need to weld, they use those forks with hexed flip-flop-flap steerer, you can make it straight or under an angle if you want to go in circles or practice track standing ;)
bubble wrap is not an option - too loud, and my bike is already loud because of imperfect chainline, do you want to hear about that? ;)

Hi, Another newbie here.
Been riding fixed for 3 years, although I did own one in my teens as well.
This is the workhorse fixer - commuting, time trialling, day rides etc.
I have a track frame, hubs, rims etc to build a nicer bike when I get round to it.
Here's me on one of my non-fixed bikes

Nice, I thought about making one of those wobbly bikes then realised I didn't have any of the necessary equipment handy..

either you spend money and you buy what ou want, or you wait patiently for something to come up
"names and faces to bikes" is probably not the best place to be looking

If we had Arteta and Jags, I'd've said 50/50 but not so sure now. We've played them twice this season and both 0-0 BUT we had a full team for both. I was at Fulham on Sunday and we played well but Chelsea and particularly Anelka and Malouda are on fire at the mo...
2-1 Chelsea I'm afraid :-(
