I also don't like to cut forks too tight, so later on I can reuse them in another frame. Are your frame (108mm head tube) the correct size for you? Usually Time Trial frames have small head tubes. Suppose that you change frame, what kind of frame / size will you choose? Measure frame head tube (new / desired frame) plus Record headset height plus 5mm and you get the steerer lenght for you present frame and put the necessary spacer to fit to it.
