Charge forks and barspins

  • Anyone know if they go?
Can i spin them right round, baby
right round like a record, baby
    Right round round round?

  • are you drunk?

  • from wha i inderstand yes depending on the tire sixe.
a maye of mine has a freestyler and can with these well little tires on

  • Ah well, im riding a 32 at the front so i guess i can forget it.

  • What frame?

  • fuji track

  • now - which charge forks? I would expect if you're on about the nozzles, yeah. They're pretty long...

  • Oh the wisks - less chance I'd say. I've also head a few stories of bending if they're abused

  • These ones.

If you're planning on doing tricks on them....don't, better off with some straight leg unicrown mtb forks, they'll last you a lonnnnnnng time, and the slight increase in length improves the geometry for tricks and gives you more barspin clearance, also means you can put silly big tyres on the front if you want.

  • Thinking of getting myself a Volume cutter 50cm, anyone knows if all kind of trick forks would work to barspin on that one, like the nozzle? I want it as short as possible but still be able to spin, any recommendations?

  • I Think Ian's (sano) Volume is a 50cm, and his barspins easily with MTB forks

  • Ah that's good to know, do you know any specific brands that are not too expensive? talked to the guys at 14 and they had a few left for about 70, so same as the nozzle, would be good to find slightly cheaper if possible...

True that when I barspin with 23c on it catches on the down tube slightly.

Anything smaller and Bob's your mothers brother. I ran a 20c Rubino no catchy, plenty spinny.

As CrazyJ et al have said buy yourself some Handsome Dogs (£10-15 if you can find them) or some Shop14 remodeled Handsome Dogs (£70 braze-ons removed and powder coated).

  • I have pace trials forks on just now but fancied replacing them with a more trad looking fork.
The pace fork has a bit of rake and the distance from the crown race seat to the bottom of the steerer is actually quite large.
Might replace it with a nozzle or the handsome dog or the like soonish.
Pace fork is seriously light though. Lighter than the carbon forks that come with the genesis flyer.

  • Does anyone know if anyone still has any of the Handsome Dog forks that were on ebay a while back? or does anyone have the ebay member name or contact info for the guy who was selling them? i've done a completed listing search on ebay and they don't show up....

At the moment i'm running DMR trailblades but they raise the front of the frame (Volume Cutter 56cm) quite a lot and from what i understand the Handsome Dogs have a shorter axle to crown race length..

Can anyone suggest anything similar to the Handsome Dogs? bearing in mind that they need quite a long steerer tube to fit the 56cm Cutter (23cm at least i think?) i did try the Charge Nozzle forks but the steerer was too short to work.

  • 650c tyre, and carbon forks. My barspins are the cleanest, just ask CRAZYJAMES. My recipe for a trick bike is opposite than the rest of the bandwagon followers, and if any one thinks different, then I think its all about show and prove.
PS. I know what happend to all the Handsome dog forks.

  • ^ bellend alert

  • yeah, we bought all of them from the manufacturer

  • they are good
