That picture really captures their target market. I always imagine those 90's euro look punks with flat caps, boots and goatee's on cannondales, especially all black ones.
In terms of strength, its absolutley fine. The single leg makes little difference to the strength, as the distance between hub centre & axle clamp are small. This is similar to the way a lot of motorbikes, scooters & cars are setup.
