Dude, if you read my post, you might have noticed the "unless they sell rear-clamp kits" bits. I didn't know you could buy serious Keirin rear brake brackets, I thought, because all the ones I've seen have been different, that they were home made, rather than produced for that use. That, obviously, stops it being a bodge, but a better constructed and researched solution to a problem. I'm sorry for my ignorance.
And yeah, a road to fixed conversion is a bodge job! Whacking a load of bits together in your front room so you can ride a fixed gear bike on a frame designed for gears is a pretty good example of a bodge. I'm not putting anything down on conversions, I love that kind of stuff! I think the clamp on brakes are really clever, I'm not a very mechanically minded person so this stuff seems ingenious to me. All bodges are awesome.
