• Yeah well done. Interesting that the tea leaves are aware of 'summer trends'. Just shows you how having something fashionable/easily made fashionable makes it much more nickable.

Worth remembering that the official met advice on keeping a bike locked in the street overnight is don't do it, irrespective of lock quality etc.

• One small detail: It has got to be human shit, and your own - this is the most powerful.

well u can find my shit in shops. its normally stacked next to Sex Panther cologne.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

What. You lying cheating bastard.
I want a full refund for the security paste that you sold to me.

• Anyone recognize this?

Just a sketchy ad that looked suspicious to me, seller said he got the gears tightened but it's ss/fixed. There is a little chain tensioner there though maybe that's what got tuned up.

Otherwise, no mention of the 12 spoke wheels or anything else unique really even though it is a pretty unique build.

If the seller is on here and is legit, apologies in advance for calling your ad into question.

• looks like a typical unipack bike. theres quite a few of them flying around now. some branded 'create', but equally poor.
i think they seem to sell quite well on GTree, ppl looking for hybrids find something that looks a bit cooler, yet still in their budget.

anyhow.. could be a stolen unipack.... :P

• good call. I had never heard of unipack before, interesting little business they have there. I thought I was sleuthing the seller but it looks like I got outsleuthed myself

• Legit, cheap as chip, break easily.

• also a bit of a markup, considering they sell for 150 new

• Is it still wrong to steal a unipack or would you be doing the owner a favor?

• Weird stolen story for you this one, had my charge plug locked up outside the trocadero by picadilly circus today and when i came back out found that i had had my azonic shorty stem stolen, a single spacer and the shiny headset cap. Now the curious thing is, rather that leaving me stitched up, the thief had actually just swapped the parts over for some shitty bits of his/hers.

As it is, my bike is still ride-able albeit with less cosmetically appealing parts. Anyone else with a similar experience??

• true story that one

• Not a stolen bike, and a bit of a pointless post but it might make me feel a little better to rant.

Some fucker stole my lights from the pockets of my jacket tonight in a pub. The shit also decided to have a go at the landlord and his missus and be racist to them for being Polish, enough so that the police got called. I've no doubt I'll never see the bastard again, but on the off chance anyone gets offered a cateye led front and rear light (or a pair of glasses the **** got too) around Croydon,
please kick them in the nuts. Hard.

What made the night had to be the old bill (called by the landlord's wife worried about the fight
her husband was having with the shit) warning me when I left that I couldn't ride my bike without
lights. "I know, they've been nicked..."

I used to like where I live and argue against people saying south london or croydon was shit, ho hum.

• I stopped a scrotty little shit from stealing someone's wheel outside uni the other day, felt like a right hero!

HERO.

Was he a "towel-head"? Rambo would have killed him if he was a towel-head.

Was he Russian? Rocky would he whupped him if he was a Ruskie.

• Hi all,

i think this is my first post, sadly it's because my bike got nicked from inside a friends building.

it's racing green raleigh, with gold decals, d *face wing stickers on the frame, a set of white deep v's with white tyres. if anyone see's it for sale or around, please let me know through here or on 07515509925.

nice one.

Rob

• HAPPY ENDING! (surely this never happens?)

thanks for the excellent suggestion clefty - it actually literally was down brick lane market right in front of my eyes on sclater street. Bike returned relatively unscathed and one ne'erdowell nicked by 'babylon'. I would have waited, but since some chancer was about to buy it I told the stallholder it was mine; he was virtually running after me to give me the bike back after that. His bad luck that the police were already on their way by then... The only disppointment is that they can't prove he was trying to sell it as 'some bloke just left it leaning against my stall'.

I can also report that the would-be thieves have very thoughtfully given me a summer makeover by removing the mudguards, reminded me to stop carrying so much crap around all the time by removing the carrier, and drawn my attention to the unhealthiness of racing myself to work by removing the speedo bracket, wire and magnet. Oh, and the put the front wheel back on the wrong way round.

Other than that, maybe minor scratches and a couple of slightly twisted spokes. Result!

... and of course a valuable lesson in locks not to buy.. thanks edscoble. What sort would you recommend for Me vs. The Criminal Underworld pt II? Obv not leaving it around at night would help, I can guess that one. And to be fair I would have been alot less pleased to be reminded of the obvious lock failure had I not got the bike back :S

Happy days!

Awesome news, glad you got it back!
Now get yourself a decent lock!

Of the youth in tracksuit ilk. He was trying to swap his front wheel with a bust tyre and tube with a bike locked up outside college. I pulled up said wtf mate to which his reply was "its my cousins bike." yeah right. I said why would your cousin let you take just his front wheel? His little (and I mean LITTLE) mate went "course it is I'll call him" then gets his phone out to call this imaginary person. All this whilst they are slowly walking away. funny moment.

aerospoked bike on gumtree from the ebay/craigslist thread

• Last night on my way to Wests I noticed a complete and utter chav in full tracksuit and rebok classics combo cycling on the pavement on a what looked lika a 2009 Cannondale Liquigas replica road bike. The utter cunt. Bike looked brand new and pristine condition.

It looked around a size 56-58 possibly. So if you know of anyone who is missing this bike last known location was lavender hill, clapham/battersea.

Looked like this:

I rode past this on Wednesday. I have seen the person riding it before and her didn't look like he stole it. But what do I know.
