Personally, I hate compensation culture and think that it often has more to do with greed than recompense.
This, though, is exactly what CFAs are for. You deserve your bike to be put back exactly how it was, and a chunk of cash for those toothy-pegs of yours. Hope you get better soon, and get back on solid foods...
