i had a bell for ages.. i resort now to shouting... get em to panic a bit.

I used to have a nice brass one, but people seemed to take offence at it more often than not, so I took it off and have gone back to yelling at them

I bought one off here but it looked rusty so I didn't fit it.

just buy a horn, far more effective.

115db for 15 quid; refill with track pump.

Thanks... I've just spent the last twenty minutes watching videos of people honking their horns across america.
And yes, that was a euphemism.

ding dong...
The chaps at the North drinks mock me for it, but they all love the sound...
had to purchase additional bolts to secure to the bullhorns.

is that R top of the bell or is it a cover? -

My bell was no use when a dozy cnut stepped out in front of me yesterday. Wanker had an I pod @ max blast, so didn't even hear me shout. Lost the front wheel on damp cobbles and ended up on my arse.
The twat faced, acne ridden, brainless, lobsters dick just walked off. I don't think he even noticed. Result: lots of lovely grazes and a mullered crash hat.
Next time I will just run into any blind knob who kamakazies into my path, thats a softer option then the road.
Maybe one of those 115db horns would work. -

is that R top of the bell or is it a cover? One long screw and one short screw, this was the best way to attach them. I think i have "profile dynamic" bullhorns (from memory)
The "R" is just a sticker. it is bright silver underneath and makes a very good "ring ring" sound as opposed to most bells which make a "ping".

I keep meaning to buy a nice bell for my commute bike, and a cheap one for my MTB. Assuming the peds are using an iPod they usually recognise a bell as being a bicycle, whereas shouting could come from anywhere.

I got this one from denmark:
They are made from a single slice of round steel, fitted to a brass bracket.

I'm finding these strangely attractive..

Also don't forget this tried and tested approach:
i got the brass one VO is selling. makes a lovely sound. but put it onto my bullhorns and it looks very out of place
i have a silver 'brrrringgg brrrring' bell on my old bike to 'brrrrinnggg' my gf down when i ride up to her place so that she can run down and give me a welcome hug. just wanted to keep up the routine
i know this is unlikely but does anyone have a bell on their fixed bikes?
if there's any i would like to know where u mount it
cheers
