I got the gist of what the guy was saying and that's all most people need usually.
I disagree--perhaps if you're talking about something pretty simple, but if something arises that is merely moderately complex or involves one slightly subtle distinction, this will be inadequate. At the same time, I do hope that we manage to retain as many incentives for people to actually learn foreign languages, and so a crap translating programme is, in a way, a good thing--the only worry is if people were to think it was accurate without realising that it's not.
I wouldn't pay for a free translater, you know.
