S-SUN 130W
http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s38p765&z=748
130W Powerful front focus light RATED 10/10 by Cycling Weekly "Five large LEDs and with the same excellent clamp as the BLTs, S-Suns light deserves to be better known. Good side visibility, thanks to clear ports, combined with a very bright beam, take this straight to the top."
500 candlepowerspa has them at 15 pound at the moment
they are very bright , i would suggest investing in some powerful rechargeables as this only uses 2 aa , is too bright for this, and the flashing just seems rude
and also have a less bright setting -

andy.w link is good, i got one of these cree jobs posted for 30 pound a while ago from hong kong, not quite as aggressive looking, seem to be helmet lamp with make do clamp, but very very very bright for the money, is the same cree 3 or 5w led that dinotte was using, just not as pretty housing

looking for a bright front light for my girlfriend, trying to get her to commute to her new work but part of it is unlit country lane. Anyone know where I can get one for reasonable money (pref less £30 ish) or better have one to sell?
cheersIf you're really trying to stick to the budget, have a look at Fenix torches.
I have the L2DQ5, but they do cheaper, like the E20, which runs on AA batteries, so your girlfriend can use rechargeables or primary cells. The run time's good (over 3 hours) and it'll punch a hell of a hole in the night for the money. If you can stretch to the L2DQ5 or similar, do have a look at it, because it has a "tactical strobe" mode that is 100% full of awesome WIN.
Nobody misses me when I'm rolling with that (although beware for pedestrians collapsing in front of you from epileptic fits...)
Secure to the 'bars with a velcro strap like this (it really works, I have one of them). Robert is her father's brother and you're on a promise.

The Fenix look great, thanks Charlotte and Spiny for the recommendations.

Although it is a torch it is the best bicycle light I have owned. Good bang-for-buck value. I use the same velcro-fastening Lockfish mount as Charlotte - easily transfers between bikes. I want the head-strap accessory thingy so that I can throw away my crappy Frenchie Petzel headtorch...
@Charlotte. How long does it run in strobe/epileptic fit mode? I've never dared use this more than a few secs!
