Yeah, and US desire to lend a shit load of money to the Germans prevented the Allies from locking the place down after the Great War with a more robust Treaty of Versailles. The sudden withdrawal of these funds and the depression that followed sowed the seeds for the rise of the National Socialist Party.There's much more, I'll be happy to recommend a book.
