I've been told by a few people here that they used oven cleaner to get rid of the anodized or powder coated surface on bike parts. Basically to make it silver again. Tried it on my brake leaver and it didn't quite work. I used the foam one and on first attempts I left it too long. The colour came off but the metal looked really bad as well. Not smooth anymore.
Apparently there is a liquid oven cleaner that you can dip parts into and the colour surface just flakes off easily. Haven't managed to find that in a shop.
Does anyone here has any experience with this or knows the exact right brand? Don't want to ruin another break leaver.
