Individual cameras can be useless but across the broader network the odds of useful information increase. In this kind of incident there should be an immediate lockdown on all public CCTV within a three mile radius and appeal for privately owned footage as well.
If were going to have a "surveillance state", we really need to be using it to our advantage.
