Given that the sliproad leads to the A2, which leads to the ferries, which leads to Europe, it could be that the driver is in Munich now, unaware he did anything much wrong other than twonk some railings and then legging it to avoid having to pay for them.

He may have been stupid but he might not be as callous as we are suggesting.
