Just bought this frame, going for a low pro (taste of the summer?)
I really like the look of that, except the seatpost. Doesn't quite go. The white rims set the frame off beautifully though.

The seat post came with the frame, will change it once I finish the rest of the bike

that looks familiar. sw18!

Back from the painters. Offered up some parts to try the scheme. Pictures don't do the paint justice - it's lush, not canary yellow, a bit stronger/darker. Wasn't sure about the red/yellow when I put it together, but it's growing on me..

@ toulouse, love the frame colour, but not sure about the red/ burgundy? In my humble opinion yellow, black and silver is enough and looks classy, but it's your ride. Nice bike anyways!

Thanks. And yeah, hear you. White works as well - I tried a white Rolls on it that looked good, but then I think drops with white tape, but I don't want drops on this bike. I'll stare at it for a while and decide whether to go loud.

Looks wise with this frame 27's with gumwalls and some white or black taped drops would be best but it's all about how you're going to ride it as this would probably not be best for everyday commute! I have had the same sort of problem with my current build and have gone for 700's and drops but they are not as comfy as risers for a bike I ride everyday. Ride it and see I guess I'm trying to say.

Simpler, nicer but only my opinion!

Yup, the gentrified deep south of London.

like old lo-pro frames (a failed concept from the past) that are suddenly sought after, much to the delight of old school racers and timetriallers who now have a ready and willing doe-eyed market itching to pay over the odds on ebay for the junk at the back of their shed.
i bet BSNY experienced a frisson of excitement and repulsion the first time he saw one with risers on, an oxymoron of a bicycle if ever there was one.How are lo pro's a failed concept? there were loads of records broken on lo pro frames, but when alu frames became popular they where then obsolete*. They are a part of TT and pursuiting history.
and they look wicked with risers and an upward pointing stem innit.
*I think they're also banned by the UCI now.

I am still thinking Honey Brooks.

What's with the spacers/stem combo??!
-
• #9766
remove the siler or black ones, then flip the stem
-
• #9767
Or take them all out, just leave one, flip the stem, lose the flat bars and put risers on.
It may well be comfortable for him but it looks really odd -
• #9768
I wouldnt want those bars...
and maybe put the bottle bolts back in before moisture sets in. -

Not a single slack chain comment yet - seriously peeps - standards around here are slipping.
Nice build JDB - I will recognise you on The Mall if you're riding that

i used to love the old controltec stuff, used to have a stem and seatpost on my old orange.
-
• #9772
Yeah, the quality is top notch - the BB weighs next to nothing

What's with the spacers/stem combo??!
Not sure how far to chop the forks yet so still messing with combos thats why it,s in current projects,ie it,s a project not finished.

Should the opportunity arise, you should check out horatio's chain on the new lo pro. Slack it most certainly ain't!

Am I to expect a barrage of "tight chain!" comments as a ride around London, now?
Trackies and their slack chains. Pfft. ;)
Well its not fixed, but it is single speed, and very pink and only running one brake at the moment so I suppose its passable for this forum. My Scandal 29er is now completed to a rideable level, and boy its feels like a gigantic BMX (in a very good way). Can't believe how light it is, and what a difference the big balloon tyres make to a ride. It feels like it could just plow over anything, but at the same time is so light its remarkably easy to bunnyhop. The correct adaptor for the front brake should be here soon, along with some more flash bits. Bring on SSUK 09.
