What does that mean? What happened for that rule to be worded like that? Did someone have a ball stuck in his helmet while people were swinging at him?!
We've had balls stuck in wheels, pockets, hoods, turn ups etc. Always leads to much amusement as the player gets battered from all sides until the ball drops free.

Apologies!
I shall practice diligently and never tackle my own team again....

Heh, yea. If the ball gets stuck on you somehow it always becomes a rush to be the first to free the ball! Flip-side, the player with the ball stuck to them always rushes towards the goal to try and knock it free into the goal.
By making all that legal play it's basically telling the person with the ball to get free of it quickly, or else!Usually this goes on for a couple seconds and the person with the ball stops, puts a foot down and frees the ball manually, it's all well civilized...

right, my new tactic for when alockemmup comes and plays is to have a spare ball in my pocket and at the right moment drop it into his hoodie…

I would, but i've got to work (In otherwords sit reading forums) at the moment so I might as well talk about details...

Seen balls in wheels a fair bit... love the idea of it ending up in someone's hoody...

(embarrassed.....)Team suicide is just a sign of your team mates not getting out your way fast enough, sounds like you were born to play polo. :-)

just for clarity
Fouls:
-Players must not touch the floor with their feet. Touching the wall or barrier with your feet is allowed; feet must not touch the floor. Each time a player does foot-down, that player is out of play and may not play the ball until they touch either sideline at center court. The player must immediately tap-out and not purposefully obstruct play. Intentionally obstructing play after foot-down will be considered a strong penalty. A possible goal that is blocked by a player out of play due to foot-down is not a goal.
-Throwing your mallet is not allowed at any time and will be considered a strong penalty.- T-bone’ or charging. Intentional, forward moving bike contact that is perpendicular or near perpendicular (resulting in a maneuver similar in shape to a letter ‘T’) will be considered a strong penalty.
-Overly aggressive behavior such as grabbing, pushing, punching with hands, pushing or kicking with feet, and headbutting will be considered a strong penalty.
“Like” contact that is allowed:
-Non-aggressive Body to body, mallet to mallet, and bike to bike. Apart from the fouls listed above.
-Contact is only permitted within the play of the ball. Contact away from the play of the ball can result in a tap-out or penalty.Non-like contact that is allowed:
-Ball to body, mallet or bike.
-Body to ball is allowed if you are sat in the saddle, feet on the pedals, hand holding mallet, other hand on bars. You cannot intentionally restrain, nor add momentum to the ball with your body. This can result in the ref calling a tap-out.
-If the ball becomes trapped within your bike or person play continues but please be aware that any legal play towards your bike or person will be considered as play towards the ball and therefore legal. - T-bone’ or charging. Intentional, forward moving bike contact that is perpendicular or near perpendicular (resulting in a maneuver similar in shape to a letter ‘T’) will be considered a strong penalty.

If we introduce training, diets and drug tests i am out!
there is also no rule for setting fire to another player....

You finished editing it now?
I particularlly glad this is acceptable:
Non-like contact that is allowed:
-Ball to body, mallet or bike. -

I assume a polo drugs test would be stopping people playing if they hadn't smoked/drank enough?

Quick question as regards getting myself all polo biked up ASAP on the serious cheap:
how do people feel about SE Racing 2009 Draft Lite single speed?
Are they really shitty and heavy?
If this bike is a serious no no then has anyone got any suggestions?
I'm happy enough to buy something fairly crappy and then change a few bits and bobs to make it polo-worthy.

I was going to play at mitch from 7.30.
But if you are doing early then yes. Thunderdome?Mike: If you need refs it something I would be most up for doing. Though I'm fairly new to the game I like to think I have a good grasp over what is and isn't allowed. :)

Will look into some options but i might try to resurrect my boyfriend's old specialized crossroads hybrid as a first option.
Its been in the garden for some time so might not be in any kind of usable state but i'll have a look tonight. -
