  • is the bromwich still available?

cant pm still in nursery btw

  • @ mahni - yes it is, you can email me directly via p3h at mac dot com - cheers, Hutch

  • Hutch -Is the Merckx still available?

  • @ bobbymulrooney - yup, still here, but just listed on eBay as a BIN, so the clock's ticking! It's a great frame, I rode it myself for a while but it's a gnat's too short for me otherwise it would doing a residency here ;-)

  • any complete bikes for sale?

  • I am 5'8", I figure this should be a good fit for me? what do you reckon?

  • @ Superprecise - I'm probably going to be selling the Moser Special complete now, maybe with the exception of the panto'd chainring - it's virtually brand new, all Campy Record. I have another complete larger Moser coming soon (55cm). I've got 'options' on a nice Torpado, around 57cm, and a lovely 56cm Billato. What size are you looking for?

  • @ bobbymulrooney, you're definitely in the right ball park assuming you're average build. Come and check out an identical sized bike if you're not sure, the Moser Special is built up and 53x54 too.

  • ive seen retro's moser special in the flesh, bike porn at its finest

  • Heh, thanks for that, sadly it is victim to my new policy of not hanging on to things that are really too small for me just because they are very lovely! [note to self: must also stop buying things that are obviously too small just because they are lovely, they don't get any bigger parked in my living room].

p.s. I'm open to reasonable offer on the Moser, to be honest it's easily worth the asking price, [virtually all the Record stuff is new including the wheels, in fact I don't think it's actually been ridden], but I need the space and the money...

  • have sent a message through the website, potentially interested in the peugeot if it's still going. London bassed so pickup no problem.

  • So what is left from this frame fest/ looked earlier but still wanting to get the courage to splurge on a decent frame.

  • Oi Mike, get back to work!

  • Actually the lugs are different. Time to call on the Sherlock Holmes of Colnagos, AndyP
    Morelike Dr Watson.

Not all Colnagos have chromed head lugs, this much I know.

R-d-C's frame is interesting. By the looks of it, the rear brake cable is externally routed, it has straight forks and, as we know, has the unusual non-Gilco profiled tubing. I'd speculate the the fork is not original. The straight fork was introduced in around 1989 but internal rear brake cable routing was, I think, the norm by then for the higher end frames at least.

  • Ok, fair enough probably time to say:
    Coppi sold
Bromwich and Pug both sold pending payment and collection
Merckx, 'nags and Scapin up for grabs
    ta!

  • Oi Mike, get back to work!

And I thought only I was interested. What are you watching?

  • well, I do sometimes dream of Colnagos...

  • After a bit of research (I nearly bought one once, and had a picture of the frame still), I think the Colnago is a Conic SLX frame. That had crimped tubing which, in profile, is shaped like the clover leaf logo. It's meant to stiffen the frame.

  • Hey, thanks Andy for your comments and research - you're right re. earlier post, it has external brake cable so maybe not consistent with the fork. Now you mention it I had heard of Conic SLX but couldn't remember enough about it to search meaningfully! Cheers anyway, H.

    Elementary.
