Free frame to a good home

50's Dayton frame, approx 55cm

Ok, got this free as a complete bike and since picked fairly clean. With a little work it could be a nice bike, however its not in perfect nick.
The good:
Paint in good condition(not orig)
Cool headbadge
Early 50's fillet brazed frame(unsure of steel type)
Post, saddle, dt shifter, headset, one bb cup inc
Built in shoreditch for added slave factor
Free

The bad
A few rust spots
The rear has been stretched for a 5speed and not very well. The dropouts are not currently parallel and will need attention
A bit weighty

This frame goes free as a polo or beater to a good home that can pick it up from mine in arsenal asap. If you're feeling generous you could sweeten the deal with a pair of leather toestraps or other cool junk, but not essential.

try your local skip/ditch/canal as you have a better chance of getting a free frame from there than by digging up a 4 month old thread!

btw, as i visit the many municipal and private tips and recycling plants of londons famous london as part of my job i come across old road bikes now and again, most of which get chopped up on here for free/cheap so there will always be more.

was cool to see you in blb the other week. your mercian(was it?) looks lovely in the flesh. ended up with a better pair of forks that day after they minced the ones i originally bought. Pics of the gf's lovely new racer coming soon...
will be good to see that frame rolling, it kinda feels like driving a narrowboat at speed. should take the punishment of polo as well i reckon ;)

I haven't got 'round to using this frame yet and as I've got the Roberts now I'm not gonna need it for polo... Who wants it? I'm home all week so come get it in Brixton... Cheers, Ed...
