i'm after a fixed rear wheel to make a conversion and join the club. does anybody have a redundant one for sale? would grab something cheap but still rolling good enough...
already looking through ebay and forums, but local buy would be nice.

Harvey (AssenonFixie) might have one going spare from his polo bike not that he's got an H son, not sure he want's to sell it all and for what price...
Rick and Andy of Bicycle Ambulance have prebuilt deepish rims built up on some large flange hubs, black on black, very nice but £60. Or you can buy a rim from them and a rear hub and some spokes and build it yourself, you might be able to do that for around £40. Or around £30 if you already have a rim to build it onto.

60 for the new one sounds acceptable, might go this way if won't find anything next few days. thanks for advice!
buying just hub is no way - i don't have wheel building skills and my current rim is too bad to be touched anyway... hence, need something readymade.

yeah, it's a good solid wheel that will last, bearings seem smooth and they all seem nice and true, so it's a fair deal.

buy rick a beer if you get a £60 wheel, he makes fuck all on em

60 quid ain't bad. buying cheap or someone else's cast offs is a bit of a false economy really as it'll break/wear out quickly and you'll have to pony up for the new one anyway. but, yeah I know you're trying to get going ASAP.

^^ what he said, you'll probably go through two second hand wheels for £30 in the time that you kill off a brand new one.
