Why not look at fixedgeargallery for inspiration.. ? I would try an old/new-skool build with lots of chrome.
I won't tell you what to fit without at least a picture of the frame... (pssst! hi-flange / chrome deep-vs - rest should vintage.. except top-tube hanky and Cycle computer.) -

Hi guys
i have acquired a 74 witcomb fram and was wanting to convert it so i need help
i don't know whether to go classic with it or just buy new bits and bobs
some advice on cranks etc would be greatly appreciated, i noticed some have bought sugino cranks from the states recently..
the bike is lavender
