I'd like to join you, but I've only got my singlespeeder with me. But since there aren't to many mountains between London and Oxford that should be alright.Well.. anyway, I'm always up for a nice ride!
Where exactly is the venue?
Cheers, Ben -

Cordonbleu - I'm starting at 8pm from WC1 Gower st / torrington place. There are quite a lot of small hills from henley on, if you're happy with your gearing for those then let's go for it.
I'm aiming for about 4.5hrs start to finish. Will do an update later just in case the weather looks awful.

I've just checked the route on the map.. think with my 52-16 gearing this isn't the best idea- don't want to make you wait for me every few miles.
hope to see ya on another ride.
have fun and a safe ride! -

Epic fail - had to pull the cord after 40miles. 2punctures, serious headwind, hail and a fairly epic thunderstorm. The second puncture on the way out of windsor was the last straw....Changing a tube on a steel bike under a tree in a storm was making me a little too nervous!
Might give this a go again next sunday if the weather is better as the route is a peach.... if my shoes have dried out by then.

I was going to say the weather this morning in oxford was well nice, but the last 5 hrs have been shit.
Bad luck man. I'll join you next time!
Hi All,
Short notice but I'm planning on cycling to Oxford on Sunday morning. Pretty / windy country lane route taking in Windsor, Henley etc - 70miles total and then the train home.
Will be going on my geared bike. If anyone else fancies joining me, I'm planning a 8-8:30 start from WC1
Cheers.
Joe.
