I'm sure I read somewhere that at 60mph bone erodes at an inch a second. Even with a helmet on at those speeds you'd be in a lot of trouble if you came off. I'd love to see it live though.

I've ridden that road twice, and apart from 4 kms at the top of the pass, it's a wide main road with very few corners and a great surface. Armstrong's objections seem to be based on the fact that it was wet. That is the complaint of someone who's heart isn't it to me.
