  • I'll try to make it depending on whether I can wake up in time.

  • Ring me in the morning. PM sent.

  • Sorry chaps - It looks like I cant make this one, but have a great time, watch out for those deer!

Sorry to hear that Simon. Nest time tell your wife you'll meet her for lunch here See you Tues.

The rest of you... see ya tomorrow

  • Doh, just bought another bike - gotta collect early tomorrow morning... but not early enough to be back in time for the ride. Gutted 'cos, well, it's gonna be a lovely one. Arvy - I'll see you on Tuesday and will try and persuade you to do it again then... (I'll bring oranges).

  • Dave4 has purchased a lady's bike...you enjoy those oranges.
see the rest of you am. nb i messed up my number above, apologies, updated above.

  • Pah! there is blue sky now.

Nice to meet you all, Brun lead the breakaway representation of the North crew at Kensington Gardens.

  • damn.. just awoken from coma. hope you guys have a nice ride
    cya next time

  • ahh, think I saw 2 of you just by the gate closest to the cafe, about 10.40... I was disguised as a roadie.

  • Alright soft lads. Anyone fancy Richmond Park this afternoon, it's nice out.

Quite pleased with meself right now. Managed two laps, the second of which was 22:33 or 17.8mph. That's the sort of time I was doing on my road bike last year, so to manage it single speed feels like quite an accomplishment.

Stelle, it could well have been me you spotted at the cafe but I'm not sure about the other cos everyone else had bailed long before then! Did chat briefly to some bloke at the table next to us.

Cheers to Arvy for organising it at any rate. Pity we didn't have more faith in the forecast and hang on for a couple of hours before setting off. Good to meet the rest of you, albeit briefly :)

  • I think I saw a couple of fixed riders sheltering under a tree as I came to the top of Dark Hill on my fifth lap.

  • Desi and I came back from Box Hill and stopped off to see if there were any arrospoks and lo-pros around, must have missed you all.

  • I just wwnt to the pub for lunch

  • i didn't get my bike built and wheels trued in time so didn't get to the park.
just went for a quick round the block shakedown. it's a bit windy out there.

  • Nice to meet y'all. Bailed out at Kensington as was hoping to see a bloke about a bike (but failed).

+1 Brun - good to see the computer thing worked in the downpour.

Definitely up for this type of thing again hopefully on a slightly drier day.

  • The weather *was *friggin absurd this morning. You could've jetskied on the road through runnymede.

  • Well done Brun, I got wet again this afternoon, just not my day today. One really can't take any credit for getting the chaps to to Ken. Gardens.

I'm toying with another attempt on the 25th (holiday Monday).
Will re-post closer to the weekend if I can do this.

  • on my fifth lap.

JEEEEEZ Clive are you serious?! I was bored out of my brain after 2 and dragged my sorry and soggy ass home. On your own it's just so dull doing laps. Didn't see anyone else supsicious apart from a guy who had a wierd Hippy-esque beard, but he had a moustache too.

  • As I drove there, I felt that I had to get my money's worth. Five laps is just under 35 miles, so not much of a run out. I was also hoping that the rain would stop and my lycra would dry before I drove home. It didn't happen!

I once did six laps but almost died of terminal boredom. Warrick Spence claims to have done 11 laps in one sitting which is plain silly.

  • guys,

I will be riding around the Cotwolds
    (banbury/chipping camden/stratford-upon-avon)101km route on 25 May

then Chiltern100 sportive on 31 May with the fireflies if you are interested.. PM

  • re-post. Dave4 and I are trying (post 1) again tomorrow morning as it looks as if the weather gods . I know some of you might be a bit hungover/worn out after the track day, but if anyone fancies it, see you at Regent's tomorrow morning.
