I love my lbses for many different reasons.
OCW because its brilliant for chatting, finding stuff, and just the endless community things they do that go unseen.and Cycloanalysts for their ridiculously rapid service.
jsut dropped off some wheels to be trued (I'm not using up time for anything but studying + lacing)
and they'll be done tomorrow, for hardly anything too.
nice guys. all of them. -

even though it's an Evan's, and even though they aren't clued up on everything, they're friendly and don't try to pretend they know everything. And they GAVE me some small parts when I needed them.
-

because they've done quick turnaround's on my bike fixing needs and always helpful, oh yeah they have a cool dog in there too. dog in shop ftw
-

14 trued my front wheel while I waited for a fiver and removed a cog reverse rotafix couldn't shift for free. Can't really ask for more than that. Smashing people.

I Iove my local bike shop because its a 5 minute ride from my house and all the guys in there are super sound. the mechanic is a 531 dude and trues wheels/builds bikes for beer.
i'm also welcome to use any tools, any time! -

Not officially my LBS, but went to Condor at lunch time. Got good service even though they were pretty busy. Didn't try to rush me and spent time dealing with my 650c tyre issues.
That is all :)

I love my LBS because it's all downhill from my house, so no need for pedals, cranks or chain.
No to mention my bother actually scooted the whole way without the above

Because at 9.30pm before I left for ToI they loaned me some frame braces for packing my bike.http://www.croydoncycleworks.com.au/
Because I'm going cycling in the Pyrenees during the TdF with Mick. -

Anyone up North London have a LBS they're fond of? Mine's alright at best.
I like Condor a lot. Good prices and their own brand tools are really good value.

Only my LBS at work, but Evans at St Pauls - without a doubt the friendliest and most helpful staff I've encountered. It was closing time and the mechanic who couldn't figure out why my wheel had locked stripped and refitted my rear hub and didn't charge me for it while the rest of us sat around and chatted.
Heroes. -

My true LBS would be either branch of TWG.
Stoke N. branch - lovely and helpful.
Crouch Hill - great and helpful mechanic who told me to bring it in even though they were busy.
When I got there I was told by some woman that I couldn't even bring my bike into the shop.. -

I love my new LBS (London Fields Cycles) because when I was in there loitering around earlier a chap came in and announced proudly "I'd like a new bike. I want a fixie BianCHEE. I have a budget of 700 pounds." At which the assistant asked:
"Ok, well we don't stock Bianchis. Do you currently cycle?"
"Yes"
"What bike do you use at the moment"
"A specialized allez"
"Ok and how do you find it?"
"It's perfect - it does exactly what I need"
"So what would you like to change about it? Why about the Bianchi appeals?"
"Because it's faster"
"Have you tried pedalling quicker?" -
• #43
Did the shop person have short blonde hair?
-
• #44
I used to say Bianchee :E
-
• #45
I often think about telling customers that if they want a fast bike they should pedal harder.
-
• #46
That advice is incorrect I'm afraid Nhatt. You should be suggesting either a red bike or one with flames. Everyone knows these will go faster.
-
• #47
or a red bike WITH flames. Then you dont have to pedal at all
-
• #48
Or a red bike with flames and motor-doping. Then you'd have to pedal against the bike to go more slowly.

Don't really have a LBS down here in SE like I used to. I suppose A.E. Wilson in Peckham is the nearest thing. It smells of oil, like bike shops should. It doesn't smell of polish like Evans do. That's just wrong.
it's all antique shops and fishing tackle when you live that deep in the country
