  • What
Gentle ride to Richmond park by my favoured route ahead of the thunderstorms tomorrow (forecast reckons 1400)

    When
    ~~ Sunday~~ Monday , 0915 departure 17th 25th May 2009. Muster point: Broad Walk (north end) Regent's Park.

    **Why
**Dave4 and hopefully one of the others at *Norths *wanted to know my "quiet route" to Richmond Park

    **How
    **err..
    ROUTE

Routes Database Link - for a couple of route tips)

    **Who
**Anyone who wants to join us. The route isn't suitable for a 30+riders but hopefully a dozen (or me and Dave4) can do this. Particularly anyone who thought Richmond Park was in another time zone (yes I know it is in a different travelcard zone) is welcome.

    Misc.
Depending on mood/numbers we might continue to Bushy Park and Hampton Court. Those of you that ride brakeless might want to think about a brake for one or two of the descents but I'm too much of a baby riding downhill and will be trying to buy a can of HTFU behind you.

5 set off, only one made it!

  • this looks like a very jolly ride - I must say it's good to have an alternative to my usual route from north London to Richmond, which is terrible for traffic.

I would join you but I am away doing the Etape Caledonia, in full roadie mode, this weekend.

    hopefully in future though!

  • Count me in, I shall warn you that I do have a tendancy of oversleeping on rides this early, but i've still yet to go to Regents Park so i'll try my best, by the way, that cycle route on the map looks suspiciously like a drag strip...

  • MrMcarthy, you need to do something to challenge the student/lazy Irish stereotype. I'm sure you can add your name to the list.
Bikepusher - get you with the Etape - hopefully one of us will be able to do this route with you on another weekend. Best of luck on your ride.

  • In that case have a Guinness waiting for me at RP and i'll fecking be there =P

  • I cannot do this as I am driving my wife who is participating in the Pink Power Walk to Richmond Park for a start at 8:30. I am going to take my bike on the car and ride gently around for a while after dropping her off. It would be good to see you all there.

    Approved.

  • Unfortunately Mummy Bad Matt is in town this weekend so all social activities are off or I would've come

  • cliveo, fugghet the wife, get her to drive herself...
...Oh, better tell the other half I can't cook her lunch on Sunday...(she beat me last time)

  • arvy, the "other half" has just spent five days supporting me while I rode around Ireland. I think driving her to Richmond Park is a small return. I have been married for almost 23 years and perhaps that's why ;o)

  • I'm up for some of this...

  • epic!

clive i might see you there if my geared bike doesn't get built for sunday.

  • As a Regents Park regular I should be up for this. The route makes a change from the usual route to Richmond.

Broad Walk (north end) Regent's Park -is that by the pedestrian crossing just after the car parks if you go anti-clockwise?

I should be on a chrome Sun singlespeed with drops.

  • cliveo -my mrs whipped me to an inch of my life last night. then she got the bag of oranges out..I'll be the bruised one leading a group round, hopefully see you there

huge16 - you are right, the East side of the Zoo.

  • Oranges always mean bad news, haven't you seen The Godfather?
